Posted originally over at Feeder (and now also on the MA.IE YouTube Channel) is the new “music video” for Saturday Come Slow. The term “music video” should be used lightly though upon viewing the piece itself. The music takes a couple minutes to kick in, but be patient. In a pseudo documentary style, the clip is actually only part music video and mostly commentary on torture practices – namely, the use of loud incessant music and distorted noises – with prisoners at Abu Ghraib and the like, including a disturbing interview with one such prisoner.
In the past, Massive Attack have lent their own support to the Zerodb campaign which protests against such torture methods as the ones discussed in harrowing detail within this video. This new semi-documentary approach for the Saturday Come Slow video marks Massive Attack at their most blatantly political yet, at least so far as their promo videos are concerned.
