Well see the thing is, we're not talking about this 'middle' of america in its figurative sense, as i think you may be (or if you aren't, there is a difference). We're talking about big cities. For instance, to be selfish, Dallas. The city itself is no. 8 in the US, but the metropolitan area is the fourth largest in the country with a population of over 6 million people! So it's not like there's no population here to support a show, unlike, say Des Moines, Iowa, which probably wouldn't attract enough people to make a show financially viable.
Or hell, forget Dallas, no Chicago? It's just strange, because this doesn't happen in Europe. Like, wouldn't you think it strange if they only played London, Paris, and Madrid, and then called it a tour?
